SPA Aluminium is born
Spa Aluminium is incorporated; Company Formed by Les Sheppard, Tony Ives, Peter Blackburn & Geoff Ives and begins trading from 1 Lamberts Road, Tunbridge Wells, primarily as an aluminium stockholder.
1971: SPA Aluminium founded
Norsk Hydro buys shares in SPA
A major aluminium producer buys shares in SPA Aluminium Limited.
1972: Norsk Hydro
A new purpose-built factory
SPA Aluminium & SPA Anodising move into a new purpose-built factory on High Broms Estate, Tunbridge Wells, the same building that we reside in today.
1982: SPA Aluminium moves into new premises
SPA Aluminium Limited
SPA Anodising & SPA Architectural Systems are made dormant companies, and all trading is moved under one name, “SPA Aluminium Limited” This decision eventually brought all Spa’s operations under one name and one activity banner of; 'Stockist, Anodisers & Fabricators'. The only major stockholder in the UK to have in-house finishing & fabrication at the time.
1987: Stockist, Anodisers & Fabricators
Tony’s Daughter & Geoff’s Son joins SPA
Julie Godbolt and Steven Ives join SPA Aluminium Limited.
1994-1996: 2nd Generation of Ives Family
Family-owned
SPA Aluminium purchases its shares back from Norsk Hydro (now Hydro Aluminium). SPA Aluminium is now fully in control of it’s shareholding and a mainly family-owned company by Geoff & Tony Ives.
1997: Family-owned company
New Directors
Steven Ives, Julie Godbolt & Richard Godbolt are appointed as Directors of SPA Aluminium Limited.
2008: Director appointments
Increase in efficiency
SPA Aluminium begins expanding its fabrication department, eventually buying multiple CNC Machines & Saws to increase the efficiency of production on site.
2012: Production expansion
Julie’s Son joins SPA Aluminium
Jack Godbolt joins SPA Aluminium Limited.
2014: 3rd Generation of Ives Family
We celebrate 50 years in business
SPA Aluminium Limited celebrates its 50th Anniversary of trading.
